On Sunday, April 26, the Karsh Center held its second annual Raise the Roof fundraiser, bringing together nearly 200 supporters, guests, and community partners for a meaningful evening celebrating the Center’s impact, growth, and continued commitment to strengthening the community.

The event welcomed longtime supporters as well as new friends who share in the Karsh Center’s mission to provide compassionate services, expand access to critical resources, and help individuals and families thrive. A generous group of local caterers donated their food, staff, and time to help create a memorable culinary experience, including Evolution Caterers, Seoul Food KBBQ Catering, Alligator Pear Inc., Breads & Spreads LA, Cari In Cari Out, and The Nosh of Beverly Hills. Guests also enjoyed an uplifting DJ set by Sanjay Nambiar, specialty themed cocktails, a photo booth, exclusive silent auction items, and the opportunity to connect with others committed to the Karsh Center’s work.

The program featured meaningful remarks and reflections from special guests and leaders. Rabbi Nickerson opened the program, followed by California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, who delivered thoughtful remarks and presented the Karsh Center with an award recognizing its exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to serving the community. Founding donors Martha and Bruce Karsh shared a heartfelt reflection on the Karsh Center’s work and vision, followed by forward-looking remarks from our Executive Director, Lila Guirguis. The program concluded with our wonderful emcees, Carolyn Enenstein and Mitch Viner.

Guests also viewed a powerful impact video highlighting the voices of those who rely on the Karsh Center’s programs and services, as well as those who support our efforts to meet the needs of the community. The video offered a moving reminder of the real people, stories, and experiences at the heart of our work. You can watch the impact video here.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our Board, committees, sponsors, donors, ticket buyers, auction participants, volunteers, and event supporters, Raise the Roof raised more than $300,000, exceeding our fundraising goal for the event. Funds raised directly support the Karsh Center’s programs and services, helping us deepen our impact, expand access to essential resources, and continue building a stronger, more connected community.
