We’re thrilled to announce that the Karsh Center has received a $1,000.00 Project DASH Impact Grant from DoorDash! Project DASH is DoorDash’s initiative to empower food banks, food pantries, and other social impact organizations to deliver charitable food to people experiencing food insecurity. Associate Executive Director of the Karsh Family Social Service Center, Frances Nova-Jauregui shares,

“The Karsh Mobile Program provides nutritious grocery bags to community members who need them the most, including new parents, elders, and individuals with a range of disabilities. This year we are working with a nutritionist who will help create specialized bags for the community we serve and expand our menu options to better meet the needs of program participants. This expansion is possible thanks to the support of the DoorDash grant.”

Launched by DoorDash in 2018, Project DASH empowers social impact organizations—such as food banks and pantries—to work with Dashers and use DoorDash technology to provide local delivery to their communities. Across the U.S. and Canada, Project DASH has powered more than five million deliveries of an estimated over 80 million meals, saving recipients more than three million hours of their time.

“We’re proud to continue partnering with the Karsh Family Social Service Center to serve the people of Los Angeles” said Daniel Riff, Head of DoorDash Drive Government and Nonprofit. “Each day, our partners across the U.S. work to broaden food access in multiple ways, including by leveraging home delivery. Project DASH helps organizations break down barriers to access and serve vulnerable populations in a convenient and dignified way. We’re excited to see how they leverage the Project DASH Impact Grant and to continue partnering with them.”
