Become a Volunteer

Just as there are a variety of volunteer opportunities, there are a few different ways to get involved.

Volunteering for most of our onetime special events (like The Big Give) does not require training. The same is true for volunteering at the Leanse Ratner Family Food Pantry and the People Concern Prep Kitchen; we just ask that you register ahead of time.

Other volunteer opportunities for which volunteers work more regularly with our clients, or perform highly specific tasks—like delivering food to clients’ homes as part of our Mobile Food Pantry, tutoring children in the local community, or working as a navigator doing intake at the Karsh Center—require that you submit an application and go through a volunteer training.

To learn about onetime volunteer opportunities and when volunteer trainings are scheduled, please email Elizabeth Green at elizabeth@karshcenter.org.
