This week, the Karsh Center was proud to team up with Faithful Central Bible Church, interfaith partner of Wilshire Boulevard Temple and pillar of the Inglewood community, to lend support to some of Inglewood Unified School District’s (IUSD) most vulnerable students and their families, specifically those facing homelessness and experiencing foster care. We did this by providing the food items for Faithful Central’s spring Boxes of Love campaign.
Faithful Central Bible Church’s Boxes of Love campaign historically gives food to those most in-need during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays. With Easter right around the corner, higher demands on families’ resources, and the community need in general quickly rising, Boxes of Love are more important than for their recipients. The Karsh Center team coordinated with RoShaun Windham at Faithful Central and mobilized on Wednesday to provide nonperishable food items like canned proteins, beans, vegetables, fruit and rice which will be made into Boxes of Love for 50 students and their families.
The Karsh Center and Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s interfaith partnerships shine a spotlight on all that can be achieved when we come together, both in times of crisis and every day. This week’s effort with Faithful Central Bible Church to serve students in Inglewood brings that mission to life.
