Jeff Paul, PresidentJeffrey Paul was born and raised in Los Angeles. Jeff was educated at UC Berkeley in business administration and UCLA with a master’s in finance. He started his career as an internal consultant at Citibank in New York City.  He worked on systems for reducing bank checking float and developed their first cost accounting system. He returned to Los Angeles to work at Cyprus Mines, an international mining and minerals company. He rose from a senior financial analyst to a corporate officer with responsibilities in treasury, insurance and planning. Cyprus was purchased by Amoco in the late 1970’s.

Jeff then worked at The Olga Company, a publicly traded apparel company, starting as chief financial officer, than promoted to chief operating officer and chief executive officer.  During his term of President, Olga was named “One of 100 Best Companies to Work for in America”; “One of 30 Best Companies for Working Mothers”, and noted as “One of Nine Best Managed Companies” in Vanguard Management. The company was sold to Warnaco in the late 1980’s. At that time, Jeff decided to start his own apparel company and formed Sierra Pacific Apparel that became a large private label jeans vendor servicing The Gap, Old Navy, Limited and Sears. Sierra Pacific was sold in the late 1990’s.

Today, Jeff owns and operates 3 car washes and also is the managing partner in Pacific Coast Housing Development, a real estate development company. His non-profit endeavors include: UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management, former Member of Board of Visitors and Chair of Annual Fund Committee; UCLA Business Economics Council, former member and Chair of Academic Innovation Fund; and JVS SoCal former President and current director and member of executive committee.

Also, he is prior Hillcrest Country Club president and director and still sits on several Club committees. Jeff is married to Nancy since 1979. They have two children, Matt and Greg and four grandchildren.

Dena Bloom, Immediate Past President

A native of San Diego, Dena first came to Los Angeles in 1981 to study economics at UCLA. After college, she graduated Hastings/UCSF Law School in 1987. Dena then started her legal career with the New York office of Latham & Watkins. She relocated to the Los Angeles office in 1988 and became a partner in the Finance Department in 1994. Three children later, Dena retired and now spends a significant amount of time with her family and on community activities.

In 2012, Dena joined the Board of Trustees of Wilshire Boulevard Temple and has been a member of the Board’s Executive Committee since 2015. In 2016, Dena became an original member and Vice President of the Karsh Center Board of Trustees. She has been President of the Board since 2018.

Carolyn Stone Enenstein works in marketing and brand management, and founded Bizainy in 2012 to create educational toys and enrichment programs that empower kids with business life skills. Previously, Carolyn was a Brand Manager for The Walt Disney Company, managing the DVD business for Disney’s Animated Classics feature films and the Winnie the Pooh animated library. Carolyn has also served as a Management Consultant for Deloitte Consulting.

Carolyn has chaired fundraisers for Veterans Park Conservancy, Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, Sunshine Preschool and Carlthorp School, and serves as an Annual Giving Captain for Harvard-Westlake School and Fundraising Committee Chair for the Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps. Carolyn and her two daughters volunteer with the mother-daughter community organization, National Charity League for which Carolyn is President of the Westside Chapter. Carolyn and her husband are active in Young Presidents Organization, Hollywood and Wilshire Gold chapters.

Carolyn previously served on the Religious School committee and Each One Help One committee; this year she continues to serve on the Camp Committee. She has been temple member since 2002. Carolyn and her husband also co-chair the Wilshire Boulevard Temple Team for the Tour de Summer Camps Jewish Federation event.

Carolyn was graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Pennsylvania, is a member of the Trustees Council of Penn Women, and co-chairs Penn’s Southern California Regional Advisory Board and the Santa Monica region of the Penn Alumni Interview Program.
