The Karsh Center promotes the health and well-being of the community by offering services, connections, and support focusing on mental, social, and physical health.

Mental Health Services

Highly trained counselors from the Southern California Counseling Center are available throughout the week for individuals, couples, and families at a sliding-scale rate. Appointment required.

Visit or call the Karsh Center to complete an intake evaluation. A counselor will call you to schedule an appointment once your paperwork is complete. If counselors are at capacity, clients are referred directly to the Southern California Counseling Center.

Grief Groups

OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center offers groups (held in English and in Spanish) at the Karsh Center for those dealing with bereavement. Intakes are required.

Weekly English groups take place on Wednesdays, 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Spanish groups run every other Tuesday, 9:30–11:00 a.m. and 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Dental Care

Korean Health, Education, Information & Research (KHEIR) provides comprehensive dental care for children and adults in the Center’s state-of-the-art facility. This includes cleanings, oral exams, X-rays, referrals for more extensive care, and other preventive and diagnostic services for free or at low cost. Appointment required.

Call KHEIR’s Patient Customer Care Department at (213) 427-4000 to find out if you’re eligible. Tell the representative that the Karsh Center referred you.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Vision Care

KHEIR offers comprehensive eye care, including vision testing and eyeglass dispensary for children and adults. Optometry services include comprehensive eye exams, retinal scans, glaucoma testing, treatments for common eye problems, vision prescriptions for corrective lenses, and referrals for more extensive care. Appointment required.

Nurse from QueensCare

Nurse Fay visits the food pantry at the Karsh Center every Sunday, where she helps with monitoring blood pressure, flu shots, and other preventive services. No appointment needed.

Sundays, 8:30am-9:30am

Clothing Vouchers

Clothing vouchers are available through our partnership with the National Council of Jewish Women. Individuals and families are eligible for clothing vouchers once every 12 months. Visit or call the Karsh Center for more information.

We can assist families in need of toiletries, which are available upon request. Visit or call the Karsh Center for more information.
