The Karsh Center strives to ensure that all people who need it have access to quality food in amounts sufficient for them to live healthy and active lives.

Mobile Food Pantry

The Karsh Center runs a weekly Mobile Food Pantry that travels to affordable-housing complexes associated with the Koreatown Youth + Community Center and the West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation. Through this program, people receive nutritionally balanced groceries and are connected to other services as needed. Fresh produce is provided by API Forward Movement and Food Forward. Currently, participants are those living in the following affordable-housing complexes: Menlo Family Housing and Vermont Manzanita Apartments.

Food Samples at the Food Pantry

API Forward Movement visits the Leanse Ratner Family Food Pantry once a month to serve nutritious food samples for the community. Recipes are chosen based on the food items provided at the pantry. All samples are free! Come learn ways to make healthy and delicious foods.

Nutrition Education

The Karsh Center, in collaboration with FEAST, facilitates monthly food demonstrations to help increase knowledge of the food distributed through the Mobile Food Pantry Program. Food demonstrations also work toward creating a community between program participants and volunteers.
