On a night filled with joy, gratitude, and purpose, Raise the Roof for the Karsh Center brought together the Karsh Center community to celebrate the transformative work made possible with the help from our volunteers, supporters, and partners. Held on May 4th atop Wilshire Boulevard Temple’s roof, the event celebrated the collective and transformative impact we’ve achieved across our four key program areas–Food and Nutrition Security, Parent and Child Well-Being, Health and Wellness, and Community Services–while looking ahead to the continued progress we aim to make in the future. 

Guests enjoyed a festive evening featuring a delicious catered buffet, two lively bars, performances by a jazz quartet and a cover band, and an engaging silent auction. Throughout the night, attendees heard inspiring reflections on the Karsh Center’s mission and impact from founding donors Martha and Bruce Karsh, as well as forward-looking remarks from Executive Director Lila Guirguis, Rabbi Joel Nickerson, and Karsh Center Trustee Nick Melvoin. The program also highlighted a powerful client impact video, in which individuals shared firsthand how the Karsh Center’s work has made a difference in their daily lives. Watch the video here!

A highlight of the evening was the incredible $100,000 match from Alfred E. Mann Charities, offered for all donations made during the event. Thanks to your generosity, we met the match–and together, raised an outstanding $340,000 in support of the Karsh Center’s essential programs.
